Why Paparazzi is the Best Side Hustle

To start this blog post, let me just share a little bit about my philosophy of side hustles with you to set the foundation for why I 100% believe Paparazzi is the best side hustle out there. I have explored a few side hustles over the years along with being an Interpreter for the Deaf.

According to a new study by Bankrate, more than half of Millennials today are rocking a side hustle to bring in extra income. Now, while I am 100% team side hustle, I also feel that not all side hustles are created equal and let me tell you why. I was VERY intentional about choosing what my side hustles were going to be. My philosophy has always been that if I’m going to pour my time and energy into something I obviously want it to provide positive returns (duh), but the kicker is that I want there to be the potential to earn income that is both limitless in earning potential and passive in nature. Because of that, I chose to become a Paparazzi Accessories Consultant

Now, here’s what I mean by that. Think about driving for Uber as your side hustle. As an Uber driver, you’re capped at how much you can make because you’re limited by time. There are only 24 hours and so many miles you can drive in a given day. As an AirBnb host, same problem. There are only so many days in a year you can rent out your place. Come up with a side hustle, and most have this constraint issue. You can work your tail off but eventually, you become limited by the nature of the job with how long you can work which limits how much you can earn. There are only so many hours in a day I can interpret, therefore becoming a consultant was the passive income I needed being a busy mom of 3 boys!

I explain this because if your view on side hustles doesn’t align with mine, then you can stop reading right now. No hard feelings, we can still be friends, we just don’t see eye to eye on this one. If you’re looking for a side hustle that you can do just to bring in some extra cash and then walk away, Paparazzi isn’t for you. The people who are most successful in this business are those who come in and treat it as such, A BUSINESS. It can absolutely be worked in part-time hours (just like a side hustle), but in my mind, it’s so much more than that. Your Success is Entirely Up to you, Where the Sky is the Limit

One of my favorite things about being a Paparazzi Consultant is that your success (or failure) is 100% up to you and how hard you’re willing to work. How far this business can take you doesn’t depend on the company you work for and the positions they have open, it doesn’t depend on your bosses love or hatred of you, it doesn’t depend on your educational background, and it doesn’t depend on your professional experience.

Straight Up, it depends on YOU and your work ethic, determination, and grit. I don’t know about you, but I’m the type of person who loves to have control of my own destiny. If I achieve something (or don’t achieve something), you know who I want to be responsible for making that happen? Yep, you guessed it. Me, myself, and I. No one else. You want to work your business like a hobby and just get discounted accessories? Fantastic! That’s what will most likely happen, and your business will pay you like a hobby. You want to make supplemental income that can make a drastic difference in your life and put in the work it takes to get there? Even better. With Paparazzi, you are in the driver’s seat. You are in control of how big you grow your business, no one else.

The other great part? There’s no ceiling. Remember how earlier I was talking about how I don’t want to be restricted in my business by limitations in other side hustles such as time & resources? Well, that’s where the beauty of passive income kicks in and you start to earn money that others are working for. You’ve probably seen some Paparazzi Jewelry before, and If you have not click here.  Our products are lead and nickel free. So if you are allergic to these, don't fret. Our founders play an integral role is the designing each piece of jewelry we represent. Most of our  $5 product line is what I like to call Limited Edition. We do not have catalogs of jewelry, while every consultant has access to the accessories, Paparazzi allows each consultant to choose what they items they offer to their customers.I can’t express how amazing they are. In addition to our $5 line, we have a Zi Collection line which is at the $25 price point.

They Incentivize Us Well

Every consultant is compensated for the products that they sell, and for the products that are sold by the consultants in their downline. That’s the primary structure of how we get paid. In any business you’re in, it’s a smart move to be in an industry that is strong and on the rise. We absolutely have that with the Fashion and Accessories. Plain and simple, this industry and more specifically the jewelry industry is a GROWTH INDUSTRY.  This industry is a $27 billion industry  just in the United States as of 2018.

There is growth to come in this industry and as consultants, we get to take advantage of the expansion and capitalize upon it to grow our own businesses.

WHY PAPARAZZI ISN’T WHAT YOU THINK

So at this point, you might be more intrigued and educated on Paparazzi Accessories as a company than you were when you started this blog post and your beginning to see why this company and opportunity are so amazing. However, you might be sitting there with my least favorite “B” word in your head. BUT.

“Well, Paparazzi sounds amazing and I would love to be a part of it, BUT_______.”

“I think it would be a great fit to start bringing in more income, BUT______.”

There are 6 primary preconceived notions, perceptions, excuses (whatever you want to call them) that I hear most often about Paparazzi Accessories, and MLM companies in general which simply aren’t true. So, let’s go through each and talk about why the “BUT” you have in your head shouldn’t hold you back from taking a chance on yourself and starting a business of your own.

No, It’s Not a Pyramid Scheme

Every time I hear someone call a Multi-Level Marketing Company a pyramid scheme, I seriously crack up inside. Mostly because pyramid schemes are ILLEGAL, and for someone to think that there are actually HUNDREDS of MLM companies employing HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE around the world that are operating “illegally” and not being shut down is absolutely absurd. What I’ve found is that most people don’t TRULY understand what a pyramid scheme is. When I ask someone “What do you mean by pyramid scheme?” many times what I get are blank stares of panic that they actually have to explain what a pyramid scheme is (because they don’t truly understand and it’s just a term that they throw around loosely). “Pyramid Scheme” is a term that has been carelessly thrown around about MLMs, and many people are fast to assume that it’s true, before educating themselves on why this is actually false. So, let me explain to you quickly why Rodan+Fields, and all MLMs for that matter are NOT pyramid schemes and even if MLM isn’t for you, you should stop using that term.

The primary difference between an actual Pyramid Scheme and MLM companies is that with Pyramid schemes there is no exchange of product and the value flows up to higher levels instead of everyone getting value out of the business. The model is solely based on the recruitment of people, and there is no exchange of goods or a service. MLM companies, like Paparazzi, are seeing the benefits of ditching expensive overhead costs that come with distributing product through brick and mortar stores and promoting their products with costly marketing campaigns.

Instead, MLM companies use a salesforce typically referred to as “Consultants”, “Distributors”, or “Partners” who are paid commissions for referring people to their products. Roll your eyes all you want, but don’t fool yourself to think that selling a product via the retail channel through a brick and mortar store is a sustainable model in today’s world. With the rise of popularity and rapid adoption of companies like Amazon, subscription boxes, at home delivery meals and more, the MLM model capitalizes on the eCommerce movement and word of mouth recommendations. Don’t believe me? One Team in Paparazzi last year sold 5 MILLION DOLLARS IN jewelry! ONE TEAM<! People are quick to associate the recruitment in MLM to the recruitment in Pyramid schemes. However, I hope the below graphic shows you that they are in fact, not the same. 

Still not sold? I’ll leave you with this. Warren Buffet’s (If you don't know who he is Please google him)  company Berkshire Hathaway owns The Pampered Chef, a well-known network marketing company, and several other MLM companies. In addition, Dave Ramsey has been quoted saying that MLMs “…are a legitimate method for some people to make some side money and sometimes to literally build their own business.”

Having a side hustle or job in MLM does go against the traditional path of a corporate career, but that doesn’t mean its illegal or illegitimate. It’s actually pretty brilliant if you ask me.  

IT’S NOT A GET RICH QUICK SCHEME

No, Paparazzi and any MLM/Direct Sales company is not a get-rich-quick scheme. There are people who have faster results than others depending on how hard you’re willing to work and how dedicated you are to your business, but most people don’t wake up a month from joining their company with retirement level income. It takes TIME to build a business (like any other business), and many say it’s a 3-5 year plan. So, know that going in. 3-5 years might seem like a lot, but I will take a 3-5 year plan ANY DAY over a 40-year soul-sucking corporate career where I retire at 65 and then get to enjoy the last 15-20 years of life (maybe) that are left.

You know I’m all about keepin it real and being honest with you guys, so I will tell you that in order for this to be a successful side-hustle or full-time job, you have to work. Everyday. Just like you would in any other job. The people who don’t work, are the people who don’t see results, quit, and then run off telling everyone that the MLM model doesn’t work. Actually, what didn’t work was YOU not the business model. Plain and simple. Ever heard the saying by Stephen Hogan “You can’t have a million-dollar dream with a minimum-wage work ethic”? Well, that saying holds true in every industry I can think of, and Paparazzi is no different.

What I’m trying to convey is if you want a side hustle where you can put in the least amount of effort possible and get an amazing income from it (does that even exist?), then Paparazzi isn’t the side hustle for you. The most successful people in this business who have been able to build retirement level income are the ones who are willing to work hard every single day. If that’s you, then keep on reading because I think this could be a great fit for you.

Despite what you tell yourself, You do have the time TO DO IT

The #1 excuse (and yes, I’m deliberately calling it an excuse) that I get from people of why they don’t take a chance on themselves and join Paparazzi  is that they don’t have the time. I’ve come to learn that people LOOOOVVVVEEE to wear their “Busy Badge of Honor” as if it’s a competition and something to be proud of. 

Now listen, I’m not denying you’re busy and you have a to-do list 1,000,000 items long. BUT, lets be honest… don’t’ we all? I seriously can’t think of a single person in my life who isn’t always going a million miles a minute. Just for me alone, I juggle Paparazzi on top of my Interpreting career, being a wife of a busy hubby, mom of 3 boys ; which is another full-time job in itself (Stay at home moms know what I'm saying), a social life, and keeping LaMar and I’s life afloat with shopping, cooking, cleaning, laundry, managing finances, etc. As we all know, the list goes on forever and is never-ending for all of us. And that’s the norm for most consultants. In fact, 80% of consultants do Paparazzi on top of a full or part-time job.

The truth is and despite the lies you are feeding to yourself, you DO have the time to do this business. Did I “have the time” when I joined this business? Did I really need to be “adding another thing to my plate”? From the outside looking in, no way. BUT, your time is about prioritization. I made the decision to make Paparazzi a priority in my time and schedule because I know the payoff is worth the investment of my time and energy. And guess what… just by making it a priority when it comes to my time, I miraculously I find time every day to work my business! Imagine that! I also bet you $100 you have more time in your day than you think you do. Don’t think you have the time? Keep a journal for a couple days and document your time. I guarantee you will find pockets of time you didn’t know you had to fit this business in. Spend any time in the car where you could take calls or listen to trainings? Just finished an 8-hour binge of NetFlix, but still “don’t have time”? Scrolling Instagram for an hour every day? Is it possible for you to wake up an hour earlier every day? It’s not always a fun process to get real with yourself, but I think that most of us could probably admit that we spend time in our day doing things that add no value in our life that could be given up to fit in a life-changing business.

No, You’re NOT Too Good for Something Like This…

Yep, I went there. You might not be saying it out loud, but I bet a lot of you are thinking it, and that’s okay. Let me tell you why you’re not too good, too smart, too educated, too well compensated, too fill-in-the-blank to build this business. A lot of us have the untrue pre-conceived notion that a business like Paparazzi is done by stay at home moms or people who don’t have a college degree and can’t get a “real-job”.  Well, you guys there are consultants with bachelors and Masters degrees, who have left their careers to do Paparazzi FULL-TIME!.

The women that I have the pleasure of working with in my Paparazzi businesses are some of the smartest, most ambitious, and forward-thinking women I’ve ever known. These women are lawyers, teachers, nurses, engineers, corporate executives, interior designers, and small business owners just to name a few. They are smart, well educated and make great incomes to support their families. They didn’t join Paparazzi because “it’s the only job a stay at home mom can do”. They joined because they are SMART businesswomen, and they recognized and seized the opportunity to get their slice of a BILLION Industry.  They decided to make an investment in themselves and the future of their families.

I have a six-fiugre career and a successful husband. I don’t say this to brag. Just to paint the picture of when someone finds out that I’m a Paparazzi consultant I sometimes get the question “Why are you doing something like that? You’re so smart & can have a good corporate job”.  My response is always “My education and background in business is what allowed me to see this business for what it really is. A business opportunity that will change my life, and one that I know I am too smart to walk away from. It’s the smartest investment I’ve ever made, or will ever make in myself and my future.”

You DON’T HAVE TO BE A Salesperson

Look, I get it. You’re not a salesperson. You’ve never had any professional sales training in your entire life and you’d just about die before becoming that “sleazy salesperson”. Well, from reading the above and hearing the professions of people who do this business (and do it well I might add) I hope you can quickly see that it’s not just people with professional sales backgrounds that excel in this business. In fact, 67% of consultants had no previous sales experience before starting their business. To be honest, the people who excel in their Paparazzi business are people who are honest, relatable, trustworthy, good listeners, and passionate about sharing things that they love and know others will love to. If you’re any of those things, then you can absolutely do this business.  Don’t let the excuse of not having any professional sales experience stop you from taking a chance on yourself.

You don’t have to be an Expert

 People think that because they don’t have a background in fashion and don't know much about the industry that, being a Paparazzi consultant isn’t for them. Well let me tell you, they couldn’t be more wrong.
